Why You Shouldn’t Stop Buying and Selling Links

Written on April 27, 2007 – 10:37 am | by Jennifer Mattern |

While I’m on a link buying kick on my various blogs, here are a few simple reasons why you should continue to by links, despite what Matt Cutt has to say about it…

  • Link buying on an independent basis gives you the freedom and ability to get exposure for your site on highly targeted sites, based on more than just keyword choices. Not every site targeting the same market as your sites will use relevant keywords… it’s about exposure with the right market.
  • Link buying can lead to direct traffic to your website.
  • Links on high quality sites with the right target market not only lead to traffic but also serve as a reputation booster making your site often seem more credible.
  • Frankly, acting like a fool for Google, and changing your business decisions constantly to try to circumvent theirs, is just bad business, and if they eventually get ousted from their top spot (and never say never), you’ll be hurting later if the other engines still give the links you quit buying value.
